One Pro Marketers Secret Trick
The professionals don’t fall in love with any one marketing trick; they fall in love with what works today.
One of my favorite marketing tricks is to use print AND the internet to get more and better results than either alone.
Telling your entire story or making a complete offer in any one print medium (newspaper, direct mail, etc.) can be expensive. Only using the web can be slow to show results when you need revenue now. What is the answer?
Build a simple web page with the help of your teenage child, a local resource or a friend. Make your full offer on the simple web page and ask for the action you want your target market to take; “come in for a test drive today” or “come visit my shop to see our latest shipment of widgets”. Give them everything they need to hear to take the action you desire (location, directions, phone number, email, etc.) – you would be amazed at how often top marketers forget this.
Now for the marketing pros secret; now take out a space ad in the newspaper that your target market reads and say something like this: “Are you curios about who has the latest shipment of hard to find XYZ Widgets in the area?, then visit www.yourURL.com to find out NOW!”
You will be astonished. You can tweak your web page as often as you need to or want to. Your curiosity ad can be simple and very cost effective. Best of all you can test.
You can test the section of the paper that works best to drive traffic. You can test the size of ad that works best, You can test the offer that works best. After each test you stop doing what doesn’t work and make more money faster with what does.
